After a recent town vote regarding funding for the 15 Main Street building, a random decision by selectmen to demolish the structure has sparked significant concern. This building, over 100 years old, was originally the first Masonic temple in the area, donated by Mr. Edwin Preble. Unfortunately, it seems that this important piece of history is being overlooked or even concealed by the town, the Masonic temple, and the historical society. The demolition of this building represents not only a loss of architectural heritage but also an erosion of Mr. Preble's legacy.
